"A Murder Has Been Renounced" Premieres Here and There

My newest murder mystery comedy "A Murder Has Been Renounced" will make it's debut to both sides of the world .. literally. In June in White Stone Virginia, USA  and then in July in Queensland Australia.

The play centers around Detective Nick Dashell and his wife Darla (previously appearing in the play "Irritation To A Murder")  the couple find themselves stranded in a remote area. The car has broken down. They seek shelter in  large estate populated by some very odd ball characters such as a sarcastic maid named Deidre and a shady gentleman named Captain Trucage.

Only seeking to use the phone, they learn the lines are down and the roads are washed out due to the storm. It that were not enough, they also find themselves involved in some mysterious events: Mrs Ludos' necklace is stolen and gunshots were heard.

Should they hang out and help solve the mystery? Sure, why not? After all, they can't leave. Perhaps stranger than the inexplicable occurrences of the evening, are the actual guests they find at the estate. Everyone is acting very oddly and using really bad British accents. And when one of the guests is found strangled in the kitchen, no one seems to be alarmed except for Nick and Darla. Typical.

The Lancaster Players in White Stone Virginia will present the World Premiere at the Playhouse  361 Chesapeake Drive (Rt 200) in White Stone on   June 10-11 & 17-18 & 23-24-25 - Evenings 7:00PM Social Hour – 8:00PM Curtain  and June 12 & 19 - Matinees 2:00PM Social Hour – 3:00PM Curtain

The Maleny Players in Maleny Queensland will present the play on 16th, 17th, 23rd and 24th July, with an extra performance on Wednesday 20th July at the Maleny Playhouse located on the Maleny Showgrounds

Lancaster High School Presents "I'm Getting Murdered In the Morning"

I'm Getting Murdered In the Morning cast of Lancaster High School
Lancaster High School Academy of Visual and Performing Arts in Lancaster NY, will host its annual Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre - I’m Getting Murdered in the Morning by Lee Mueller on Saturday, May 14, with performances at 1 and 5 p.m.
"I’m Getting Murdered in the Morning” is a humorous murder mystery that takes place at a wedding reception. During the garter toss at Brenda and Eddie's Wedding Reception, a mysterious man falls dead on the dance floor from a gun shot. Luckily the bride's father -the wealthy Harold Montague -invited Damage control expert Mr. Parker to the event.
Parker tries "spinning" the murder as "nothing to worry about" but Society columnist Mary Berger insists "something be done". Something like - hold the presses because this could be the "Society Scandal" of the year. Not only was a man shot during the garter toss but it seems the mysterious Dead Man has ties to both the Groom and Bride's family. Secrets that both sides do not wish to reveal. None the less, with some persuasion of Mr. Parker, the reception continues as planned and the Murder Mystery takes a back seat. For a while.
The Dinner Theatre is only one aspect of Lancaster’s Festival of Arts. There are many events taking place from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. that day.  Admission to the Festival of the Arts is free, and tickets for the dinner theatre performances are available for $15. The ticket includes admission to the show, a Chiavetta’s chicken dinner with drink and dessert, and a free spin on the prize wheel. Chiavetta’s dinners will also be available for takeout after 1 p.m. until sold out for $9 each.

Can't attend the play? Why not read it?
